Dear Oats Taxi Partners,
We hope this email finds you in good health.
We appreciate the difficulty and uncertainty that the Corona virus pandemic has created for many of our Partners. We would like to thank you for all your hard work so far!
Helping you to move forward
As the UK government has announced we are entering the next phase of the UK’s response to the pandemic, more people will be starting to consider travelling again. Whilst that is good news, driver and rider safety \should still be your top focus and priority right now.
TfL’s latest corona virus advice for taxi and Private Hire Vehicle drivers came out this week, alongside the Department for Transport’s advice for taxi and private hire vehicle drivers. There are some significant updates to the guidance that you should tell your drivers about.
Drivers and passengers are advised to use a face covering for the duration of the trip, and riders should sit in the rear seats where possible. Advise solo riders to use the back-left hand seat.
Keep regular air circulation in your vehicle with the windows open, if possible. Air conditioning should be set to extract and not recirculate the air inside the car.
Drivers and riders are advised to carry hand sanitiser and clean their hands regularly for 20 seconds. Regular hand cleaning is recommended over using gloves.
Don’t allow any driver to work if he or she have symptoms and tell them to follow the government’s guidance on isolation.
A thorough clean of the vehicle with normal cleaning products should be completed at the end of each shift/working day of your driver followed by washing their hands. After each journey, they should clean hard surfaces including:
- Door handles
- Window winders
- Seat belts
- Rear of the front seats
- Any surfaces passengers may have touched
